Easy Check Varroa Mite Jar

The Varroa Mite Counter Jar is a great way to test your mite levels.  It's simple, reliable and reusable tool for use with alcohol wash.  Transparent bowl makes it easy to count the mites, either before or after removing the basket of bees. You just have to look at the underneath and count the mites, easy!

Fill one side with 50-100ml of rubbing alcohol or windshield fluid, add 1/2 a cup of bees (about 300) and shake slowly for 90 seconds.   The alcohol kills the mites and they will fall off the bees.
